Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate puts D&D spin on boardgame classic
Classic haunted house boardgame Betrayal at the House on the Hill is getting a D&D-themed rework in Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate.
The game will feature the same social dynamic of the original title, where one or more players turn on their former comrades mid-way through exploring a dangerous location. However, rather than working off themes pulled from classic horror stories, Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate feature fantastical plots where adventurers are corrupted by monstrous Mind Flayers or driven into a murderous frenzy by evil spirits.
The box will include 50 new ‘haunts’ – twists that determine which characters turn and what how the game finishes – as well as 12 D&D-themed adventurers and six plastic miniatures.
The game will be released on 6 October 2017.
